Chris and I couldn’t be more excited for our “Greatest Adventure” to begin and I truly could not help myself from purchasing this adorable onesie to take on our trip to Hawaii with us once we found out the news! Of course once we found out, I ALSO truly could not help myself from getting started on the nursery design plans.
So without further adieu, what you really came here for…a sneak peek into the nursery designs and some of the progress we’ve made thus far…

In case the above design didn’t give it away…IT’S A GIRL! What started off as a gender neutral design plan slowly became more and more girly with subtle hints of pink throughout. I typically tend to go black, white, and beige with design choices in our house, so this was a big deal for me! I went back and forth between lots of different wall paper options. A few of my faves mocked up below (including some different complimenting art pieces that aren’t too childish or cheesy).

Ultimately my inner “girly” came through and this Serena & Lilly ‘Dusty Rose’ pattern won. Danielle Moss also used this pattern in her daughter’s nursery a few years ago and it looked sooooo gorgeous, so that really helped to nudge my decision. …

This shocked my husband to no end. “PINK”, he proclaimed when the wallpaper arrived! “Dusty Rose”, I corrected. He’s learning ;). I wanted to create something that embraced “little princess” without skewing Disney. Going for more of a chic Princess Charlotte meets modern French countryside vibe if you know what I mean?

Things are already underway over here, and I couldn’t be happier with the results so far. We are following this chair rail tutorial by DIY Playbook for the lower half of the walls, rather than going with full floor-to-ceiling wallpaper. I’m personal…

We are following this chair rail tutorial by DIY Playbook for the lower half of the walls, rather than going with full floor-to-ceiling wallpaper. I’m personally very excited about my new power tools as well, like this handy dandy cordless nail gun! WATCH OUT WORLD! Also, do you guys want me to link my sweat pants, or what? LOL. Just Kidding. But also Go Sox!

Thank goodness for Chris’s math and precision cutting skills, or I might be missing a finger and this room might have lopsided boxes. #GirlDad. Shout out to our friend, Bill for letting us borrow his circular saw, it was a game changer, now I know what I’m getting Chris for his first Father’s Day.

Nothing ground breaking here - I wanted a “changing table” that could grow with our little one, so I opted for a dresser with a changing basket on top. I love  this one from Design Dua.

Finally, the glider. I wanted something neutral and streamlined that could be repurposed later down the road in another room in our house. One thing I have been SHOCKED by is the price point of gliders. YIKES. Most of the bloggers I follow have link…

Finally, the glider. I wanted something neutral and streamlined that could be repurposed later down the road in another room in our house. One thing I have been SHOCKED by is the price point of gliders. YIKES. Most of the bloggers I follow have linked options that are gorgeous, but upwards of 1,100, which I can’t seem to stomach. The above option in the mock-up I actually prefer from a design standpoint to some of the more expensive options from places like Serena and Lilly. With a recent 20% discount code the glider pictured is $799, but I’ve rounded up a few more budget friendly options that I’ve found thus far all under $400
